DAMs - the lethal water bombs

"DAMs - the lethal water bombs' could be termed 'a visual support' for Kerala's longstanding demand for constructing a new dam at Mullaperiyar.

An Award Winning Documentary on Mullaperiyar Dam Issue..

Documentary Director: Sohan Roy

Mullaperiyar Dam

Mullaperiyar Dam is constructed over the headwaters of the Periyar River in 1895 Kerala, India. It is operated by the Government of Tamil Nadu according to a 999-year lease agreement made during British rule between Maharaja of Travancore and Secretary of State for India for Periyar irrigation works. The dam's purpose was to irrigate rain shadowed regions of Tamil Nadu.

Tamilnadu wants to increase it storage height by kerala is against it considering the weak strength of more than 100 years old dam and more over more than 25 lakh of people living in downstream of mullaperiyar. If any thing happens to dam it can affect 4 districts of Kerala. it is true that the old dam must be replaced. Take away the selfish attitude out of the mind and think like a human. Just think there are 2500000 (25 lakh) people living in the downstream. Do their lives have are not worthy????????

Live happy...share the bessing with others..
